For the centre based riding week and some first nights of the trail rides you will stay at Oro y Luz a charming place in a lovely landscape near Valle de Rodalquilar, leading to Playazo, one of the most beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean, which you will see. Five suites each with a kitchenette and one miniflat. All totally independent with private entrance and terrace with a breathtaking view of Valle de Rodalquilar. Amazing sunsets and a lovely restaurant.
Manuel (Manolo) Ruiz, born in Barcelona in 1959 he moved to Andalusia in 1992 to devote himself to his passion: horses. He has devoted his life to being a professional trainer and equestrian tourist guide, is vice president of the Association of Equestrian Tourism in Andalusia and was involved with the European project for Equitour, developing horse riding in Catalonia and Menorca. His motto: The horses do not carry us, they accompany us during our travels.
Radial Routes at the Sea (6 nights) € 850
2019: 10-16 November
Day 1 - Pick-up at the airport, bus station or train from Almería and transfer to the equestrian center, Meet your host/guide and briefing. Overnight at Rodalquilar.
Day 2 - Torre de Los Lobos El Playazo. Ride towards Rodalquilar Valley, famous for gold mines, which caused pirates to visit the region. Ride narrow paths along the coast.
Day 3 - El Playazo, ride the famous El Playazo beach with golden sand and crystalline water in a white rugged setting with the Castle of San Ramon at the background. Ride the cliffs in the national park with super views.
Day 4 - Visit Los Albaricoques (where western movies were filmed in the streets in the seventies)
(the good, the bad and the ugly; a fistful of dollars…).
Day 5 - Las Minas de Oro Gold Mines. We will cross the interior of the old mines and climb through ravines and a crater forming the Rodalquilar Valley.
Day 6 - Las Negras. On the way we will see water coming from small flows in the Rambla de Las Agüillas and collected in pools near the sea. The village of Las Negras is formed by a group of simple white houses. From there we head towards San Pedro Cala.

You can decide to book your own flights or leave it to us. We will always pass on your flight details to your host so your pick-up and transfers can be organised accordingly. We advise you to wait with booking your flights until we have confirmed your horse riding holiday.
Pick-up & Transfers
You will be awaited at the airport of Malaga and driven to your destination. This transfer fro Almeria is included in the price. The transfer from Malaga is € 180 per car one way and can be shared among guests.
No vaccinations are required for a visit to Spain.
The currency in Spain is the Euro.
Spanish is the official language in Spain. In addition Spain has four official regional languages: Catalan, Basque, Galic and Aranees. Your host and guides speak English.
Weather and climate
Spain in general has a lovely climate. In spring temperatures of approx 18 degrees are wonderful for riding. Summers are dry and can be hot, up to 35 degrees, when you will appreciate a picnic or a swim. Autumn again is approx 18 degrees with hotels already using the heating in the evenings. Riding daytime is still more than enjoyable up to November and even December.

Upon reservation a deposit of 20% is required.
The remaining amount may be paid 10 weeks before departure.
The partner abroad always determines the price, so you will always get the same price (or better if you are entitled to a discount as e.g. if you are a KNHS-member or Paardenpas-loyal friend).
You will receive a personal travel itinerary with all relevant information about your horse riding holiday including flights, arrival, pick-up & transfers, hosts, guides, instructors, horses, accommodation, insurances, health, program, documents etc.
